What does the £35 per person cost actually include?
It includes everything required to provide you and your guests with a fantastic 3-course wedding breakfast: tasting session, site visit and planning meeting, professional chefs and waiters, kitchen equipment, plates, cutlery, salt & pepper shakers and butter dishes. VAT is included in all our prices. There are no hidden costs.
What areas do you cover?
The Wedding Kitchen is based in Woking, Surrey. From here we cater for weddings in the surrounding area, including Hampshire, Berkshire, West Sussex and London.
How much experience do you have?
The team behind The Wedding Kitchen has extensive catering experience, from working in some London’s top hotels and restaurants to the many corporate and private events for which Avala Catering, our sister company, has catered since 2005. We know how important it is to get things right on the biggest day of your life and you can trust us to be professional and reliable.
What is your food hygiene rating?
5, the highest level. It was awarded by Woking Borough Council in December 2018.

Can we taste your dishes before making a decision?
Absolutely! Making a decision on paper is difficult so you (and your parents) are welcome to taste your preferred dishes (2 starters+2 mains+2 desserts) in our premises in Woking, Surrey. You will meet our Head Chef and we’ll be able to discuss your celebration in more details. We charge £25 per person for the Tasting Session but this charge is refunded if you choose us to do your wedding catering.
How much do you charge for children?
Children up to 12 years old are charged half price for the Wedding Breakfast. For very young children, our chefs are happy to prepare kids favourites, such as spaghetti bolognese or sausage and mash.
Can you provide food for my photographer?
Yes. Photographers, musicians, DJs, entertainers, etc… We charge £15 per vendor for a main course.
Your costs are much lower than other companies I’ve spoken to. How can you offer a premium service at such a good price?
It’s quite simple. Where other caterers will be offering a totally bespoke service, we provide a choice from a set menu. But this doesn’t mean we compromise on quality and taste! All our dishes have been created by our experienced chefs to taste delicious and look fabulous.
We have also streamlined the whole process to provide a core service. This enables you to add as much or as little as you want, which gives you greater flexibility with your budget.
Do you require a deposit?
We require a 50% deposit in advance to secure your booking and the remainder is to be paid after your wedding. This allows you to change guest numbers and/or services required up to the last minute and only pay what is due.
What will the waiting staff wear?
They’ll be dressed formally in a smart uniform of black trousers, white shirt, grey waistcoat and purple tie. But of course, if you would like us to fit in with your theme, we will be happy to wear whatever you provide us with.
We’ve found a venue we like and your prices for the wedding breakfast are better than theirs. Can we hire you instead?
Yes of course. You may need to discuss this with your venue first to make sure they allow external caterers. We’ll be happy to assist you in any way we can.
Can we make changes to the menu?
After the tasting session you’ll choose the dishes you’d like for your wedding breakfast. To ensure a smooth process the menu needs to be finalised at least one month before your wedding date. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate last-minute changes, nor can we offer a totally bespoke service. Of course, if you have guests with allergies or specific dietary requirements the menu will be tailored so that their meal is every bit as enjoyable as everyone else’s.
Do I need to choose all the dishes before I submit an enquiry?
Not at all, we don’t expect customers to make such important decisions online. We’ll discuss your menu choices when we meet for the tasting session.
We’re only inviting 50 guests. Can we still use The Wedding Kitchen for the catering?
Unfortunately, no. Our costs are based on a minimum of 75 people.
Our wedding reception will be in the local village hall and the kitchen is not well equipped. How will you cope with that?
Don’t panic! We’ll bring in all the equipment we need and will do a site visit with you beforehand.

Of course, and we’ll be happy to recommend them. Just tell us who or what you’re looking for and we’ll do our best to help.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we are insured for public liability, product liability and employer’s liability.
